My red-on-red '91 had some leather scuff marks on the driver side seat bolster (transparently identified by the seller before I bought it). Did a bit of internet searching and decided to try a leather dye product from a company called Seat Doctors - basically their selling point was that they would custom match the color to your VIN number and interior code.
See below the before and after pics of the bolster. I just followed their YouTube instructions, nothing special. BTW the color looks different in the after pic but that is just an artifact of the lighting - the color match is actually perfect. Cost was $26 including shipping for the smallest quantity - 4 oz. I applied 7 coats of the stuff and barely made a dent in the amount left. I may choose to refresh my entire seat(s) with it although they didn't really look bad at all other than this bolster. I'm happy... |

Excellent! Very good to know. I'll keep them in mind.

Put some seat cover over that or it will keep on wearing. I put a big piece of foam covering the bolster then put the cover over that, seat bolster looks new after 25,000 miles. I?d post some pictures but it?s a pain in the a$$on this site.
