The high-water mark for Chevrolet’s fourth-generation Corvette is undoubtedly the ZR-1. Starting originally as an option package for the third-gen ‘Vette, Chevy turned it into its own variant of the C4. The C4 ZR-1 was powered by a trick DOHC 5.7-liter V8 that made a healthy 370 hp. Writer James D. Sawyer mentions his experience with French roads and pushing the ‘Vettes space saver spare to its limits.

I saw that too. While interesting to read something from back in the day I was surprised there was no further commentary. At least a little bit of effort would have been nice.
