Do the people with coilover conversions in their zr1s scale all 4 wheels to tune the suspension and balance their cars?
What balance do you shoot for in tuning the suspension. Do you add weight to the drivers and pass seat or just the drivers seat when tuning? Just wondering if and how much it would help on these cars. I have it done and it seems to help on my straight line car and was just wondering if it is a common practice on street cars. |

I had them tweak and set the ride height on all 4 corners but didn't check for the weight differences and corner balance
it would be a good idea but likely a bit expensive relative to the benefit on the street |

You should have weight in the seats roughly matching your target, ie for racing alone put roughly your weight in the driver's seat. If not racing, it's not very important unless something is seriously out of whack, and corner weighting is a way to find that out.
All you can really accomplish is to try and get 50/50 cross-weight, that is LF+RR = RF+LR, which should give you roughly equal max grip turning either direction. Of course to approach that you may wind up making too much compromise to stance/travel, or deciding to move/remove things in the car to improve, then lather/rinse/repeat. The hard part with corner weighting is finding scales and a level place to set them. I have the scales but no place level, so for now my car remains a mystery. HTH, - Jeff |
