Default injector clips

I'm reinstalling my fuel injectors in the fuel rails and was wondering, does it matter which direction the clips slide on from. I've got another Z to compare with but it looks like the clips on it are installed from both directions. The front clip is pushed on from the inside of the rail and it looks like the rest are installed from the outside.

This is my first R&R of the plenum and new injectors and I'm trying to do it correctly. I'll probably be asking more question shortly if y'all don't mind helping. Thanks.

Default Re: injector clips

I put mine in from the inside outward with snappics in the "Top End Refinish" thread, and no one said that's backward ... (which they DID, thankfully, when I did have something wrong).

Any snappics there RR? They're fun to watch!

Cliff might have better pics in his Solutions reference there Randy, and I'll link 2 here as well:

THIS time, I DID have to raise the rails to seat the clips (and get the 'click'). I did rock the rails like first time, to make sure the INJ's' O's were seated, but apparently too low. None would click in at all.

Then I looked in from the side, and saw that the rail was low, from end to end. I got a screwdriver into the groove, twisted, and heard the click. X 8, and they're locked in.

Ready for a leak test. AGAIN.......
