Here's some eye candy from the new project. Stock pistons, machined for valve reliefs. This will make room for a fairly aggressive cam lift. Wonder what's possible from 350cid???

Do we know what the current hp leader is for 350 CID LT5?

Not really. I don’t believe anyone has tested one on an actual engine dynamometer. I plan to test this one.

I'm currently 451 at the wheels and didn't think there was much left without adding cubes. Maybe a little more with more aggresive cams. Which of course is exactly what you are looking for.

Problem with really aggressive cams, that if it requires piston mods you have to teardown the motor anyway.
You should be able to squeeze almost 100hp/liter with a tricked out engine. |

At 15% loss, I calculate to 530. That's 93 per liter. I'm not sure I'd want more cams and still have to drive it on the street.

Using the same math, that would tickle 557+ @ the crank, and his 11.04 at 129+ in the quarter, and IIRC* ~156 mph(?) in the half mile. I don't know whether Pete has "eyebrow" cut his pistons or not. But, his 350 put on quite a show at many events, including BG! One of his runs at Byron before the last mods. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFNFOhGGlR4 He says he keeps the secret in a Mason jar buried in the back yard. ![]() |

I believe Pete’s numbers use SAE correction.
Todd, Are u thinking larger valves as well? Increase lift on Intake or Exhaust or both? Last edited by XfireZ51; 02-12-2018 at 09:06 AM. |
