Default A8 shudder issues?

I might relate an experience I had with first fluid change after initial track experience. I was unfortunate in picking a dealership two years ago that used an old, out of date fluid. The vehicle then developed the shudder. Now, after two more flushes/changes it may be getting better. Hopefully by now every dealership has the latest fluid and techs that understand our ZR1's require specific steps for successful fluid change.

You may have to bring your own or specify exactly what fluid is required.

In fact, your experience with the 8L90 fluid change to solve the torque converter clutch shudder problem, is rare but not uncommon because I have heard about other cases of dealers not flushing with the right fluid. Either dealers did not pay attention to what GM was telling them as far as how to "fix" the issue or they cut corners on cost by not buying the correct fluid.

Currently, the onlyfluid approved for use in the 8L90/8L45 is Mobil 1 Synthetic LV ATF HP.
