They don't run out of steam as obviously as an L98 does. But the torque curve is basically the L98 curve but with a multiplier. They make peak torque at like 2,300 rpm.

I think more than anything, the motor will not hold together above that rpm. Those guys were really insistent that us LT5 folks don't rev the engine up. I told them they could run mine out as high as they want, the limiter will keep the engine out of trouble. I sort of doubt that they did that though (except probably Joe Kennedy!) and may have walked away with an impression that they aren't all that fast.

Oddly, in spite of the low RPM potential, the B2K's included a 3.54:1 rear. Even shorter than the ZR-1 (though not by much).

On your dragstrip thoughts, I've frustrated the crap out of an LT4-owning friend of mine. A couple of times we've lined up where I've gotten an absolutely terrible launch, he's gotten his hopes up, and then I'd tear by before the end. One time I bogged it so hard I must have smoked the clutch. The car would rev up in 1st and 2nd without accelerating, so I shifted to 3rd, and blew by him just feet before the finish line. I probably should have given up, but he's never beaten me to the end of the track, and I wasn't gonna let it happen that time!
