After doing what Phrogs posted, under advice from a pump vendor, at idle I rapidly cycled the steering lock to lock twenty times or so since this car doesn't see much street use. I put newspapers under the front tires since it was on slicks at the time.

PS here's a plug for Jeff at Turn One, their stock replacement ZR-1 pump seems to have cured my persistent issues. I'm even back to the stock cooler, which is a good thing since I was fixing for an argument on rules with the wacky setup I had in place.

PPS, Turn One now has a nice aluminum pump for ZR-1, saves a few pounds and up high & in front to boot, great part but too bad I couldn't use it due to rules.
