Just two cents from a rookie owner. Are you sure it is using the oil & not leaking it. Only reason I ask is that I just had to go under the plenum and was horrified to see how loose the breather box cover bolts were on mine. What a mess it made. It was so bad that I was getting oil from the valley drain tube exit staining my oil pan in that corner!
Sorry to butt in with my lack of experience.
I had actually thought mine was using it also till I looked between the Alternator & fuel rail down with a flash light & saw the oil all over the place down there! I used to go on a cruise & had to add about 1/2 Qt every 500 miles or so to top it up. I would let it sit for 24 before checking too! Since I changed the gasket & torqued the bolts I've been thru two tanks & no oil loss!
