Very interested in how the leather wrap turns out, I've thought about that or some sort of similar approach (headliner material, suede/alcantera etc).
On these up-high places I'm not sure that dynomat will have the desired effect, this type of material is very heavy and its main effect is to damp metal resonance. I'm not sure applying to to plastic will do much other than make it heavier. I think some sort of lightweight foam compressed into the areas you're talking about might do more to alleviate random rattles and buzzes.
