Well, I don't know that you have to be a "marksman" to hit a sparkplug hole with a bore brush..., but it sounds like an excellent way to brush the threads. However, I believe I would avoid the bronze bristle brushes and get the nylon bristle brushes instead. If it is just carbon, there are a bunch of bore cleaners available at your local gun store that will cut cabon and not hurt steel or aluminum. GM used to sell an engine "Top Cleaner" designed to deal w/ carbon (- that many competition rifle shooters use for the same purpose). I'm thinking a 45 cal pistol brush would be about right.
