It's great that the Nittos work for you and I am by no means questioning your experience, as many others on many forums have also reported success. But I think it is pretty inescapable that they have a wider quality tolerance than the Michelins, as there are several (including myself) who simply could not get the Nittos to work.

The phenomenon of wider quality tolerance is probably the same issue as with the "junk Chinese wheels", BTW.
Seems like some runs of the tires might have that wider tolerance... but many seem to be tighter. Maybe those of us with no issues just got lucky.
