Mark Haibeck taught me that the connector
is called an Oetiker clamp and uses a special
tool to crimp. Interesting to look up.
Removing your EGR system because
you don't need/want the smog option
is another issue.

PS: Looking at your pictures again I think
I see a crack in the outer (heat) shielding.
Is that what you are talking about?
Not a problem, or at most maybe apply
a wrap of heat resistant tape.
My mechanic said there are cracks in the tube upwards from the end we see in the pic and that it needs to be replaced. Quite a job it seems.

Marc Haibeck has the parts I need, so I guess it has to be done. NOX w/o EGR in my car will be twice the level of a 92 that doesn't have EGR if I remove it - bad when trying to pass the emission control...

Typical my luck just 500 miles or so after it had a full tune up and service at Haibeck's last summer...
