It's a bit easier to get power out of the LT5's. My 96 LT4 has AFR heads, ram air, torquer cam, long tubes and 3" exhaust. Putting out about 480 at the crank. Irene, my white 91 Z has 500hp with headers, ram air and plenum porting with a tune. Heads ported and more aggressive cams could net another 50hp or more. These cars sound really good at redline.
There are plenty of good ZR-1 owners on this forum that are happy to help out with a PPI or technical assistance. Might require a 12 pack of beer or a take out pizza
