See, if my friend is drinking too much and about to lose his job, but dreaming that he isn’t, I’m the type of guy who levels with him. If my friend’s wife is cheating on him, but dreaming that she isn’t, I’m the type of guy who levels with him. If my friend has an unrealistic view of what his car is worth, because he lives inside a very small bubble that includes only other guys who happen to own the exact same car he owns – but who are not stepping up to write a check for his unicorn and rainbows asking price – I’m the type of guy who levels with him.
