Ed spoke the truth. If a dealer is willing to let it go for $8K, can you imagine what he got it for?
That trans. needs a $2K+ rebuild, fresh seats, paint, and tires, might bring the bill to $8K, and if the engine just needs the usual injectors, some hoses, etc., another grand. By the time you're done, you're nearing a $20k investment.
For which you you could buy any number of relatively low miles ZR-1's, in good shape, with numerous spares.
But despite all that, this car still remains one of the best values in the Corvette hobby.
