Re: 2015 ZR-1 Road Trip to pick up my new (to me) 1995 Purple ZR-1
Sunday in Las Vegas. We started early to get some photos on the strip. We drove down S Las Vegas Blvd, bought some gas and headed back up to take some photos. Then the car stopped running. Died at a stop light. Hard to restart and stumbled and stuttered all the way back to our Resort.
I let it sit for a few minutes and tried to start it again. It cranked but would not start until I gave it full throttle while cranking. After that it would run poorly and in neutral, there was flywheel rattle which to me indicated one or more failed injectors.
After sitting a while, it would start OK but ran poorly.
I got in touch with Ted Dempsey and he came to the rescue. I drove out to his house. He agreed with my conclusion about injectors. Ted offered to remove the injectors from one of his ZR-1's and let me put them in my car. Two hours later, I started my Purple ZR-1 and it ran better than it ever did.
I cannot say enough thank yous to Ted. With his expert help, Lyndi and I are back on the road with no loss of our schedule.
Ted is the best of the best.
