Difficult to say, but there are a couple of things you can do to look for more clues.

1. Have you noticed any change in oil pressure, before & after the knock?

2. Can you feel the knock in the shifter?

3. Change oil, send sample for analysis.

4. If nothing abnormal in 1~3 above, consider removing the transmission & inspecting entire clutch/flywheel assembly, loose bolts, cracked/broken/worn parts.
