I took the 89 out for a drive this weekend and once I parked at the local cruise night I realized the reverse lockout didn’t work. It appears the collar has come free of the rod, has anyone had experience with this? Also before I tear into this has anyone done this repair that can give me some direction before I start? I want to keep the lockout, I like it and am not a real fan of the later crash through.

Daniel,
It's been a while, after I had that issue I pulled that thing out and put in a Hurst. I believe there is an allen set screw that has come loose in the shifter that engages the lockout rod. You will have to remove the shifter knob to access it. Maybe someone can chime in on this one.
