The jury is still out on specifics. I think we need to wait till the full product is announced. Having said that, I'd be very surprised if you couldn't use the baseline setup it comes with to mimic the GM baseline.
Then you could presumably use that to improve control over emissions especially at where they like to measure at 2000 and 2500 rpm.
That is, learn and dial in what controls you need to to get best emissions possible. I'd be like having access to multiple chips that we use today only no pulling, burning new data and replacing chips.
We'll just have to wait and see. New technology retrofitted into 20 yr old cars. I love it.

No doubt there will be a learning curve to it but what doesn't have one anymore? Is this for highly modified high HP cars, surely. Can it be used in stock HP cars? Yes I'd bet so.
