I had driven cross country a couple of times before, but when I flew out to Ca to buy my ZR-1, it was the best long distance trip I had ever taken. There were many roads where you could stretch it's legs and I took good advantage. I was pulled over while still in Ca by a trooper and they had me by aerial surveillance with a helicopter hiding behind a large ridge. Fortunately he was
and let me go after I explained I had just bought it and was driving back to Florida. He basically said wait to you get out of my jurisdiction before getting on it again so I thanked him, shook his hand and was off. When I got to the open desolate desert roads I experienced what it could really do and am sure my face looked like this
I did have it inspected prior to flying out and gave it a good hour myself before heading off. So take the time needed to make sure it is ready for a long journey and get to know it a little before you go WOT. Drive safe and have a great drive home.
