Default Re: Doing some work on my LT5

I will have a few more progress pics this weekend, I have done about another 5 or 6 hours this week.

I am going to weld up the holes in the plenum where the coolant lines to the throttle body join up rather than tapping them and plugging them. This means I can grind out all the internal casting for the cooland inside the plenum just inside where the throttle body bolts to.

Has anyone done this and was there any advantage? It does seem to close up the intake at least a little.

Also - what is the best shape to make the transition from the front face of the plenum where it opens out into the main plenum chamber?
There is about 6mm of alloy thickness that could be used to taper or bellmouth slightly into the plenum.
Anyone got any experience with this?

Matt
