Re: Movie remakes.
As you may know this one is suppose to be a prequel, showing what happened to the Norwegian team that dug it out of the ice. That was prior to the American team having the Husky run into their camp at the beginning of the movie with the Norwegians trying to kill it.
Overall I enjoyed both the original with James Arness as the Thing, and the remake with Kurt Russell. I doubt this one will be as good because the director is no John Carpenter. Just the musical score alone made his special and suspenseful, which this one will not have. I will likely see it if the reviews are halfway decent. I'd hate to think it will be as bad as stinkers like the War of the Worlds or The Day The Earth Stood Still remakes.
