Rapid prototyping has been around for at least 15 years. But they could only make things out of plastic. And to do it out of stainless steel takes way to long. There's still no substitute for CNC machines hands down. And guys that can write the cnc programes and make parts like these on the machine can make $100K a year. It takes very skilled people to do it.
