There is a video on You Tube(I'll try to re-find) of a ZR1 at Nurburgring and the car definitely has some kind of waste-gate or popoff valve pop when shifted...gotta be some power-adder there.

'Short Gears'
My '68 Chevelle had the 325hp 350 engine, close ratio 4-speed, and a 4.56 gear with factory air shocks. First and second gear were very, very brief.

I have never taken the top off....PO never took the top off....
When I first posted here, I mentioned that I understood there was a lot of flex and a potential windshield damage issue when jacking...
