High Speed Fans
Does anyone know where I can get replacement Fans that will fit in the stock fan shroud? I understand that I would have to redo the wiring and all but I want to replace the fans with a high speed ones to keep the car running cooler and still look stock.

If you having a cooling problem than you should look at the whole system. Clean the radiator in & out. Make sure the pump & thermostat are OK and air dam is not missing. Debris in between the rad. & condenser is the biggest problem.

I agree with the second post in this thread....if your ZR-1 is running what you feel are high coolant temperatures, then you need to address the issues raised in that post. |
Thanks guys. I had planned on taking the Rad out to clean it anyway I was just going to see if I could get it cooler with higher RPM fans or motors. I am thinking of a 180 stat as well.

You will have to make your own 180 thermostat since no one makes them anymore.

Doug Rippie has them on his Web site http://www.dougrippie.com/ I was going to call and see if he still made them since he did the Chip that is in my car. however if he doesnot make them anymore how would I make one?

I found 2 of the old boxes with the old thermostat in them and the P/N is 10135627 and is an AC Delco box and the thermostat is a 180, I tested it on the stove and it is open at 180. Al |

I believe that Robertshaw made a 180 in 1991-2 but not many were made. Making your own that opens fully is what i ment. Mine opens fully at 185. |
