Where is the c4 - c5 brake upgrade procedure?
I have seen a write up w/ pics, but now I can't find it. I'm not even sure my adapters are bolted up correctly.
Thanks! |

You should not be getting any fade with the stock system in an autox setting. |
Re: Where is the c4 - c5 brake upgrade procedure?
i have never taken my car to a track of any sort. i plan on it, just haven't had the opportunity. but i have read reports that say the ZR-1 brakes are one of the weak spots of the Z. not that they aren't reliable under normal driving conditions but that after only a few hard braking events from high speeds will cause the brakes not to perform as well.

The factory system when in 100% proper operating condition, should be adequate enough to lock up the tires.
Under prolonged usage at a road course, you will notice fade due to lack of air circulation and and also the lack of mass. Keep in mind the ZR-1 is 3,500 lbs. Porche, Ferrari, Lambo all used Brembo 4 pistons at the time the ZR-1 was released. For some reason GM felt obligated to stay with the PBR caliper. The C5 kit will help at the track, plus the components are cheaper to replace compared to the C4 gear. |
