New ZR1 Owner and Member
 

Hello all, I recently rescued an original 16K mile 1990 ZR1. The car is immaculate however the egine suffered an life ending career. I bought the car and recently aquired an original 1990 engine which has only 4000 original miles on it to install back into the car. My question is from the serial numbers off the engine I see the following:

10ZSH X911040003 ---side where oil drains

also 10153556

On the block I also see another stamp which I believe is the date of 101689 (MMDDYY???)

Does anyone know what the serial numbers indicate? I'm sure it relates to the original VIN# of the car somehow I woud think but not sure?

Thanks! I got a hold of complete service manuals and I saw some VIN# decoding pages etc so I may get the answers I was looking for there. Cheers.
