drag racing a 1990 ZR-1

Well I broke some parts on the Zr-1 this past weekend at Orlando Speed
World. I'am going to replace a few parts. I need a rear spring, half shaft ,
Dana 44 rear differential cover and maybe the rear differential itself. Won't
know unil I get the car on a lift. What Spring came on the ZR-1, I found a FE1
spring will that work?
I need to go and check the build Sheet for more information.
I'll update as I get parts and get to work

I did some research and found my build sheet . The rear spring is NYR, but I
can't verify it until i get the car on a lift and take it apart. It also shows FE7
H.D. F&R Susp. Would NYR also meen FE1 rear spring?

How did you break these parts? Is your motor modified? Were you on slicks?

Be sure to get the heavy wall aluminum half shafts that came that came with later C4s.

Re: drag racing a 1990 ZR-1

At Orlando Speed World in Jan. 2017 it went the best of 11.54@120.00.
Avg 60ft time of 1.600 to 1.680 1/4 mile. When the half shaft broke I was deep
staging So before the run that I broke the rear my 60 time was 1.780 @
112.00 1/4 mile. I have made over 10 runs a year for the last 14 years.

Re: drag racing a 1990 ZR-1

Ok, So far I have ordered the follwing items.
rear spring FE1,rear differenital cover, (2) rear spring center mounts, (2)
reconditioned half shafts with 1350 u-joints. While I have everthing apart
I'am going to replace all rear the bushings, opinions ( use original OEM or
Superpro ?) on a 35 year old car. I need to get car on lift and check the rear
differential, as It was leaking at the bottom. If cracked mavbe able to repair
or just replace the entire rear with new gears ( 3:73).
New rear bushings still have to be ordered.
Thanks
John
