Hurst Shifter-For those who need 'em

There had been some interest in Hurst Shifters here before. I think this might be the best deal around since the guy quit selling them on the Registry.

Summit Racing sells them for the same price, too.

That's good, I already have one so didn't look there. I'd buy from Summit anytime. They have fast shipping too.

What performance gain does the Hurst shifter provide on a relatively stock ZR1?

More positive shifting, and better shifter feel.

Re: Hurst Shifter-For those who need 'em

Does the Hurst remove the reverse lock out? When I looked at the information on them I thought it did and wondered if there might be some concerns about shifting into reverse instead of 6th.

There's another by B&M that appears to have the lockout but it's more expensive and shortens the shift more. Can anyone give a comparison of the two?

thanks

Dave

The Hurst does remove the lockout, at first I was very cautious going into reverse and 6th but I haven't had a problem with it at all. I like the Hurst much better than stock.

If you are considering the B&M, get it from Bill http://www.zfdoc.com/S6-40ShifterOptions.htm
I haven't used both, but Uly (guinessdood) had his B&M shifter done by Bill and the throws are the shortest on the planet.

Thanks for the info John. Does anyone have any photos of the Hurst and B&M installed? It would be interesting to compare.
