RIP Reeves Callaway
Just got the email. It seems Reeves Callaway passed on the 11th of this month after injuries sustained after a fall.
I met him at the very first Carlisle show I attended. They were selling a Callaway Speedster at the Barrett Jackson Auction being held at the show and he was kind enough to hear about the excitement his company inspired in my young mind. What an American Legend... |

Truly devastating for the auto community. A true pioneer who's accomplishments will never be forgotten.

Re: RIP Reeves Callaway
I am sitting in a restaurant as I read this where he would sit at the other end of the bar for lunch. He had a wonderful ride.

Re: RIP Reeves Callaway
RIP Reeves. As a Corvette and ZR-1 guy, I always have had great respect and appreciation for the Callaway Corvettes...especially of the C4 variety. Hopefully, I will own a nice Aerobody some day.
I always got a chuckle out of watching video of Reeves telling about his response (or thoughts) to Dave McLellan about whether he would be interested in turbocharging some Corvettes. It was something to the effect of "Does Dolly (Parton) sleep on her back? :dancing |
