In the past I've reproduced these out of urethane resin from molds I made made from the original moldings.
Plan to do another batch soon. They run $50 for one, $80 for the pair plus shipping. You will have to take care of the painting.

The ZR-1 moldings are unique. Base C4 moldings are a bit longer and have a different wheel well contour.

Re: 91 to 96 drivers door molding

it appears that mine has 2 10mm nuts at each end and then clips in the center, and special way to remove the molding? from the door

Re: 91 to 96 drivers door molding

To gain access remove a few screws that attach forward edge of the rear wheel liner. Then you can reach the two 10 mm nuts that retain the molding clips. On my reproductions the 6 mm studs are casted in the molded piece and the clips are not required. Much stronger than the OEM piece.

Re: 91 to 96 drivers door molding

Is this molding for the door or the dogleg piece? I do know for a fact the door molding is the same,I've replaced one with a standard part. A word of caution to anybody looking to remove this molding from a 91, on #634 my car the molding is bolted the entire length of the trim,I destroyed one piece thinking it had snaps in the middle. To remove this the entire door has to come apart, window removed everything. It would be interesting to know when GM went with snaps in the middle. No keep in mind the trim is the same, the part of the trim that holds the studs, snaps is the same. The difference is one is stud insert and the other is a snap insert, these inserts are removable.
