Corvette to become it's own "brand"

Everyone saw how Lamborghini had a massive increase in profitability after releasing their SUV and its unlikely anyone will hold back from cashing in now. Even Ferrari announced an SUV, when a year or so ago the CEO said it would never happen while he was in charge.

It grabs at an entirely different market and hugely increases first time customer purchases.

I don't like it, but from a $ standpoint its a risk worth taking.

Aside from the original subject of the article, Sean Tucker needs to rethink his job as an author. Zora did not draw up, design, or create in any way- the original Corvette. This extreme flaw in the article in the first paragraph leads me to question the rest of it.

By the way: Corvette has been its own brand for a while. Just because they want to make some more 'family friendly' variants doesn't mean it's a new brand. If anything it will bring the community as a whole further into the limelight and likely drive the values of prior Corvettes up a little.

I believe that creating a family of Corvette vehicles is a great way to assure the continuation of the Corvette sportscar. Porsche has significantly demonstrated the value of SUV availability to the overall brand and what it means to its sports vehicles in particular.

A two Seater, an SUV, Hybrid, All Electric, a Sport Sedan.
WOW!

Why not.

I miss my Corvette Powered Impala SS as well as my AWD Trailblazer SS.

Why have only one when you can have many to choose from!
I am IN!

Marty,

I wonder at times if GM is playing a semantics game when they say there will be an all E Corvette. Could that be an SUV body?

Ask any of the Mustang guys what they think of the
electric Mustang SUV. 🤪

Remember what the Corvette folks thought about the
Camaro taillites a couple years ago? This oughta send them
into cardiac arrest!

Corvette is GM's trademark, they can put it on a shopping
cart at the supermarket if they want to.

The only reason I can think of for branding a Suburban as a Corvette is that Chevrolet as a brand lost direction. To this day when I see a four door Porsche, I think of it as a marketing scam. The only sports car company that that comes to mind that I would buy a truck from is Lamborghini as they started off building farm equipment.

This spinoff thing dilutes the emotion of the name Corvette.

George.

The Porsche Panamera and pretty much anything from Lamborghini at this point are just rebodied AUDI's.
