Wazoo to the rescue AGAIN
1 Attachment(s)
Driving to lunch with Wazoo member Dan (dandt67) to meet another Wazoo member Ed (Hawk), my 92Z started to sputter and then died at the traffic light. No joy, it would turn over but struggled to run and continued to stall. I had my fuel pump jumper and put that in but no change. At that point I had to get the car out of the busy intersection so Ed, Dan and a good Samaritan pushed me out of the turn lane and into an office parking lot. At this point I put in a SOS call to Jim (QB93Z) and he arrived in a short time with tools and a grin. This is what the brotherhood is all about. Am I going to call AAA to tow me????. hell no, we can fix it right here. Jim connected a gauge to check the fuel pump pressure and it was 0 so we knew the problem. We removed the fuel pumps and guess what, one hose was disconnected. Reconnected the hose and tightened the clamp, put the fuel pump assembly back in and presto, it?s alive again. Thanks again Jim and thanks to Dan and Ed for lending a helping hand. Time for lunch and I am buying!

Hi Marty,
Looks like the 7000+ RPM runs put some pressure on the fuel hose clamps but overall, your/my car is well taken care of and happy. You are 100% correct, typical Jim to the rescue. I am so very lucky to live in Wazoo land and to have make lifelong friends from owning #246. No fear driving a 30 year old car with just under 110,000 miles, I know Wazoo has my back. When you think of all the times Jim, Phil, Yun, Rich, Nelson, Glenn and the rest of Wazoo have come to the rescue of somebody in the brotherhood; be it at one of our monthly Wazoo maintenance days at Jim's home, the Holiday Inn parking lot in Bowling Green, the Smokey Mountains, at Carlisle or on the highway, this group is very special. Pic of Jim arriving 35 minutes after my SOS and he lives 35 minutes away from where I broke down! Stopped what he was doing, had tools in the car and was on the way.....priceless!! |
Re: Wazoo to the rescue AGAIN
Awesome story - great that you posted it Charlie. I should be moving to WAZOO country rather than up north.

Re: Wazoo to the rescue AGAIN
Not surprised with the 7th cav coming to rescue. Had it not been for the Wazoo, I would have given up my 94 about 10 years ago. Learned a lot and had a great time learning not to mention great friendships formed.
