A ZR-1 Net Registry Event - LIME ROCK ZR-1 DISPLAY
 

Lime Rock Park is celebrating a significant anniversary with the Historic Festival 40 this upcoming Labor Day weekend from September 1-5. The ZR-1 Net Registry would like to make this one of our 2022 club events with a focus on the Gathering of the Marques which takes place on Sunday, September 4.

The Gathering of the Marques will host clubs which will be positioned around the 1.5-mile Lime Rock course. With as many as 600 cars expected, the event will showcase an incredibly diverse display of cars grouped by make and model. We hope Registry members within reasonable driving distance of Lime Rock Park will travel to this beautiful area of Connecticut to participate in at least this part, if not all, of the Lime Rock Labor Day weekend event. What better an event and place to show, as a club, our remarkable cars and demonstrate the ZR-1s unique place in Corvette history on a weekend when automotive history is being celebrated as such an iconic place.

Also, on Sunday, September 4, there will be a special show that includes twelve of the most significant Corvette concept cars on loan from the General Motors Heritage Center ? all the more reason to have our ZR-1s within a stone?s throw of these historic concept cars.

Fellow Registry member and local area resident, David Goldfarb, has graciously agreed to help with planning our club participation in this event ? thank you, David! For those interested in participating in this great event, please contact David at davidvipervette@aol.com as soon as possible so that we can get a sense of numbers and to maximize our opportunity to secure a great location for the Gathering of the Marques event in particular.

We will have an extended article on this entire weekend in the upcoming Heart of the Beast edition 60 due out soon but for now, if you?re remotely interested in the Sunday, September 4 part of the weekend, please contact David.

I think we had 8 ZR-1's last time.

I should have done the tour lap, looked like fun, and have never been on a race track in a car (only bikes).

259 miles one way from Ellicott City, MD, about 5:10 hours depending upon traffic. Might be a Wazoo potential?

Details re this great event are in my initial post in this thread, so I won't repeat them here. With the event being just a month away, now is the time to contact Dave Goldfarb via email at davidvipervette@aol.com with your name, email address and mobile phone numbers. Dave has done a lot of work to get the ZR-1 community represented at this historic event. He needs this information to help with the coordination and ensure we are all on the same page re what is needed now and how to maximize our participation at Lime Rock in September.

For those who are thinking about this event, there is a registration process. It is free (no cost). Registration ends Aug 22. Hope to see some of you there.
