1990 Black/Red ZR1
Made an exciting purchase on a ZR1 last Sunday in Tennessee. Car has 63 original miles and still belonged to the original owner, a physician in Lebanon, TN. He purchased it from Superior Chevrolet in Cincinnati and had it shipped home.
Other than a Pizza Box he says he never received, the vehicle is well documented with the original sales documents and build manifest. There are associated negatives with the car, such as, it has not been started in 30 years and it's dirty as dinosaur ****. There is no mold or mildew and the chassis is pristine, with the exception of cobwebs. It will clean up beautifully, like new. I've already been in contact with Marc Haibeck and he feels 'awakening' the car will present no problems. We even hope to save the original injectors since they have not been exposed to ethanol fuel. More to follow as the process begins... https://i.postimg.cc/c4SW4KpC/FF0-BB...DCDC9-D849.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/LXgShj4Y/27-CD3...A11233-C88.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/RC18dgYC/1-E9-D...92-F62-AEF.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/Pq9sGNbt/841-C6...383-B32572.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/bJk5KgNT/AA1-C9...1090-EE6-B.jpg |

Re: 1990 Black/Red ZR1
Hope to retain the original spark plugs as they only have 63 miles use. Marc sent me his procedure for a 'gentle awakening'
The original, assembly line oil and air filters are still in place. The original assembly line battery was included with the car. If anyone wants photos of a particular component, let me know. I will have the vehicle in my possession within a couple weeks and plan to take a month or two documenting everything before any work and/or cleaning begins. I have a lift so, chassis pics are no problem. It's #2456 with a June 90 build. https://i.postimg.cc/CKZRjPwm/6-A167...-CE98-E739.jpg |
Re: 1990 Black/Red ZR1
Alright, big question: How big a hit did the original owner take on his investment?

Very cool. Glad it will be in the hands of someone who appreciates it!

Congrats! I saw that one on Facebook Marketplace and hoped someone would get it who would appreciate it. That's a cool color combo, too. If I had the room I'd love to have a no-miler! What a great project, too, to clean it up and document along the way. That will definitely win some awards! Good luck!

Truly Awesome .Wish I found it first ! have you started it? I know you know to change fluids and prime the oil pump!!! Any thing you want to sell or throw away, I will take them! Hang tags, original cardboard driver and passenger cardboard floor protector!, Either way good find! Be sure to change clutch fluid (and bleed air out)

It's going to Haibeck to be fully serviced and brought back to life. I'm in Israel for three weeks this month so, my time is limited.
