Pressure Plate Questions
Hey guys,
I will be installing an original lt1/l98 Valeo pressure plate into my 91 Zr1 and pairing it with a fidanza flywheel. With the shorter pressure plate do I also need the shorter clutch fork ball stud? What do you guys recommend to grease the clutch fork with? Thanks, Scott |
Re: Pressure Plate Questions
If I am picturing it in my head correctly, the shorter L98/LT1 clutch fork stud would move the fork further away from its intended location. I have not heard of swapping fork studs if the L98 pressure plate is used. Some have an official grease they use. I have a variety of Lucas grease tubes. They offer a brand referred to as red n tacky that may work for you. They also offer moly grease and marine grease.

Re: Pressure Plate Questions
just my off the wall personal opinion, but i think you will run into the proverbial 'can of worms'.
first, the pivot ball will be further away from the fork between the slave and the t-out bearing. you would need a longer stud ball but the correct length will be hard to calculate. if available. would be a trial and error fit. second, the guide tube will not go all the way to the to bearing for it to glide on so that may become an issue. like i said, my off the wall thoughts. |
