Just when you think you have seen them all !
Another super nice very low mile example pops up as if made a few months ago. This is a really nice looking black 1990 with the red interior and listed at only 700 miles. It has the C68 air and both tops with the protective layer still applied. I really like the color combo. The 90's are really growing on me. The price is really up there but it's a very nice ZR1. You certainly don't have trouble finding super low mile ZR1's.

Somebody ran a buffer over the car and didn’t bother to mask off the trim, door handles. Gives me an idea how the rest of the car has been kept. There was a black 90 floating around a few years ago with 700 miles that the paint was in bad shape, might be the same car.

Interesting red emblem on the rear, I wonder if that is original? I think it's a nice contrast, especially with the red interior. I would have that thing judged, get all of the certificates/awards, then put some miles on it.

I am pretty sure all the black 1990 ZR-1s came with the standard rear emblem like the one below. Randomly picked a couple of pictures from 1990 ZR-1s for sale, though the emblems are a bit blurry they do look the same. Still, many people changed them. I personally painted all three emblems on my Quasar 1993 red just because I liked the contrast and it went with my red ZR-1 Splash decal. --Bob

Re: Just when you think you have seen them all !
Different car Z51Jeff, I'm pretty sure the 700 mile car that you mention was the one I drove 500 miles to purchase, the pictures and the conversation with the dealer was well worth the drive because it was the owner of the Chevrolet dealership that purchase this ZR-1 back in 1989. After 7 hours on the road I was really excited to see this car, well there it sat in the show room just what I expected plus more until he open the door, the odor that escape that interior was breathtaking, apparently he was told if you plan on storing this vehicle for any period of time (which was 27 years) to spread mothballs throughout the interior and the perimeter of the exterior which will prevent mice from getting into your car. And with that said I shook his hand and said thank, got in my car and headed home.
This mothball issue will be added to my check list when searching for vehicles. And just to pass on some research information you will never get rid of the mothball odor it's impregnated, saturate or infuse in such materials as plastic, fiberglass, leather it's just an odor you can't eliminate. |

How‘d ya smell the mothballs?
Hold them by their wings? Sorry, couldn‘t resist...😋 |
