ECM EPROM not locking correctly or working loose
 

Just curious anyone ever had issues where the EPROM inside the ECM does not click in all the way and will start to throw SYS on the dash and causing the SES light to flicker as well as the speedomer will stop working as well as the odometer? My car started this again today but when troubleshooting the odbc1 scanner could not connect. So when I took apart and reseated the EPROM it had no error codes but did notice that one side of the EPROM does not make a distinctive click like the other side and wondering if this is my issue as the car will run fine after for a while till it gets hot and takes about 30 mins.


Anyone ever experienced such an issue.

What I did made a rectangle thin piece of plastic the same side as the rubber piece in the EPROM cover and double-sided tape it to the rubber piece forcing it to keep the EPROM more secure.
