Interior Lights Function

Any of you guys or gals know how long it should take for the interior lights to go out with a door left open?
Mine seemed to be taking a long time to go out, so I timed them. They stay on for 15 minutes and then go out. All other functions of the interior lights seem to coincide with operation as described in the FSM. There is no mention that I can find in the FSM that addresses the above question.
Also, does anyone know if the time can be adjusted? 15 minutes seems like a long time.

15 minutes is too long. did you check the key switch if it is not straight up and down when you remove the key, the switch will act funny.

When the key is removed the "Lock" mark is aligned. The key is not straight up and down when put in lock and removed, but angled a bit back. The key is straight up and down when "off" but not locked and removed. From the "lock" mark aligning, this would appear correct?

Possibly your interior light module is going bad? 15 minutes is way too long.

Seems way too long to me also. I will do the trouble shooting per the FSM, but appears to me also it could be the module.
I don't guess it's really a problem since all the other functions are correct, but it's not right!! Have to get it exactly the way it is supposed to be or I won't be happy.

My crazy is well embraced!! Could have something to do with it being the only thing around here to embrace except my dog. Sometimes she even looks at me funny !!!:confused:

Going to dig into research on the interior lights tonight and get me a plan of action in motion.

OK. Looks like I may have got my tighty whities in a wad and accomplishing nothing more than needing to do laundry!!
Original perceived issue was interior lights taking 15 minutes to cut off with a door left open. Seemed like a long time.
Digging through the FSM I found that the interior lights are controlled by the CCM. (I wrongly assumed there was a "timer" or "module".)
Section 8D page 2 states :quote: "If the CCM sees a Door Ajar wake-up, and that wake-up remains active (i.e., the door remains open) for 15 minutes, the CCM will turn courtesy lights "OFF" if they were "ON". This is done to prevent battery drain if a door is inadvertently left open for an extended period of time." :end quote:
As I don't think the car knows if I left the door open "inadvertently" or on purpose, the 15 minutes seems to be correct.
Section 8A (Electrical supplement) -114 & -117 seem to verify the information from FSM section 8D.
I tried different ambient light scenarios and the interior lights seem to act accordingly.
SO, even though 15 minutes seems a long time, it appears to be correct.
Anybody want to leave their door open (either on purpose or "inadvertently") and see how long your's take to go off??
If someone sees anything different from my conclusion, please let us know.
