C8 Mid-Engine Motor
I’d be willing to bet that the motor for the mid-engine C8 is a derivative of this new Cadillac twin cam V8.

Seems like a good bet. The General will need to put that engine in more than one platform to justify the development costs.

That will make it special. (not) Prepare for a ZR-1 C-4 Deja vu' all over again. Maybe they can put the Vette rear lights and bumper on the Caddy............... The whole idea of a Halo car is you leave the Halo on the ONE Car! Marty |

647hp but versions are used in just about everything they make including the F150. Just tacky.:thumbsdo: H |

Sorry Marty but I think the 4.2 TT DOHC motor will be a lot more special than a OHV in block cam’d truck motor like the LT1 or its supercharged version LT4. It looks like its using some pretty neat technology worthy of being included as part of the evolution for America’s Sports Car. |

Re: C8 Mid-Engine Motor
Altho I believe the Corvette version will not be a hot V. The CAD drawings for the C8 that were exposed by ZERV on the Corvette Forum show exhaust tubing that was more conventional. More room in a mid engine to route exhaust outboard of the motor.

Re: C8 Mid-Engine Motor
In the past I’ve read that in order to get the approval for the C8 GM had to share the ME platform with Cadillac to offset to developmental cost so don’t be surprised if that ME camo car at the fast food drive through is in fact the Cadillac.

For anyone like me who is not familiar with the concept...

Ford's 6.7L turbo diesel is a hot V set up.
