ZR-1 Decal application..

:o I feel stupid even asking this...but... I ordered the ZR-1 decals from our store. But I can't figure out how to apply them. They don't seem to be the self stick kind, do you use water or something?

Figures.. I can rebuild my car but I can't apply a decal...

if it's the ZR-1 one, I think you just have to keep rubbing it till it sticks

Hey Hans, there should be a piece of opaque paper to pull off, make sure you have cleaned the glass before applying the decal.

Re: ZR-1 Decal application..

Hey Jeff, I'm trying to apply it to the air horn on the engine. I separated the backing from the opaque paper with the decal attached. It won't stick to the air horn simply by pressing it on. I'm not sure if it requires more pressure, rubbing, heat or whatever.... I've done something like this before but it stuck by itself and you simply pulled the opaque paper off and there it was.

Hans-

Those decals are made for window glass only, if they are the nonstick static cling variety, they need a perfectly smooth surface as glass.:o

Make sure you pulled off the right side. The decals are papered on both sides. One side reveals the sticky surface, you stick it on then carefully peel off the other side.

I put one on my samco intake duct. They really aren't very sticky, but seem to stay on fine once there. Make sure the surface is clean, though, or the minimal stick will get used up on the dust.

(went back to the stock duct with Haibeck inserts though)
