LT5 Leak?
So I was looking around the engine bay to try to figure out how to remove the front left FX3 actuator when I saw oil. This is on the right side. The left side is dry. Anyone have thoughts on what might be the cause and how bad is this? Can I still drive it or is it benched until this gets fixed? Even if I can drive it, I assume no track days or autocross untill it's resolved?

Re: LT5 Leak?
hard to see from the pics but it looks like the cam cover might be leaking just a bit. Not a big problem and ok to drive the car. Just keep an eye on the oil level and post back how much it leaks over a month or so.
I'd be comfortable driving it. |

Re: LT5 Leak?
From what I've heard that's a fairly common issue and not one to worry much about. I very well could be wrong, but that's been my understanding.

Re: LT5 Leak?
Yeah, its pretty common, but with anything else could be a sign of a developing problem

Re: LT5 Leak?
The IH is the part with the water pipe. Also the oil could be coming from the PCV system (little rubber boot) again, not a huge deal, use a thin item with a rag around it to get all the oil you can then enjoy the car. Just keep an eye on it😉
