Upper Door seals...any hints to make it easier?
I'll be tackling my next project over Thanksgiving. I'll be working on the upper door seals as mine are cracked and looking shambly.
Any hints on how to make it easier and better? I watched a few videos on YouTube and it looks pretty straight forward (drilling rivets... really?) once the door panel is removed. Any help is appreciated? |

Outer door seals? I just replaced my driver side door outer seal and it's a night and day difference...mine was all dried and had big chunks out of it. First, make sure you have the garage space to have the door fully open. Getting the door panel off was the easy part, it's getting the old seal off is the trick. I did have to end up drilling two rivets out. Go slow to make sure you don't punch through the inner door shell..... I had no idea what I was doing, I just followed a step by step tutorial, I think on the Corvette Forums. Visually it makes a HUGE difference. Good luck, be patient. And the color of your Beast is just beautiful!

There's not really any shortcuts. It's pretty straight forward. I've done it a few times. Don't overtighten the door panel screws. Everything is 20+ years old and getting brittle.
