low rpm miss

1995 55k mi zr-1 engine (perf chip) slight stumble. i've never had anything but smooth strong power since i bought the car, throughout the rpm/speed/throttle range. just recently it has a slight miss just when adding a little bit of gas pedal, around 2000 rpm. doesn't matter much what speed or gear, just happens when running steady state and then slightly increasing pedal pressure, seems a little worse after a few miles driving. no problems at all other modes, full throttle, half throttle, any rpm, valet mode on or off.

where to start? plugs, wires, injectors? do i need a code reader? i want the car to run perfectly when i sell it, i'm just not using it since i retired & main job now is driving wifey around in her sedan or suv. also, i'm working on restoring my dream mid-year

Thanks!!!

Re: low rpm miss

Had same issue when i picked up my 95: turned out to be ignition wires
Run a timing light on all wires n see if you can visualize the miss at idle in a dark garage
.....n of course take the easy way out n start with plugs then wires n last coil packs
Wires tend to screw up even more when you throw water mist on them
Injectors are more than likely NOT the culprit ...you hope...

Re: low rpm miss

Mine recently had the same symptoms,
Fuel pumps solved the problem.

Re: low rpm miss

thanks for those suggestions! wonder if lack of driving caused the problem, i probably haven't put on more than 100 miles in the last 2 years, many months none at all

Re: low rpm miss

changed the plugs, runs perfect all rpm's now!! thanks y'all for the suggestions! hate to sell it but wifey sez 1) i don't like to ride in it, you drive it too crazy 2) you never go anywhere by yourself anymore, so... 3) what about the '65 you're working on?
