Should I be freaking Out?
 

Hello all, I've noticed some intermittant smoke from the tailpipe. It usually occurs when you really get on the gas while accelerating and only lasts like a poof of smoke. I can't tell if it's white or blue and while I goosed the throttle in the garage, and got it to smoke, it smelled like spent gunpowder to me.

Here's the facts:
1990 Z with 38,000 miles
It's my daily driver (yes, the horror!)
Only mod is Marc's chip
I use Mobile 1 Extended Performance

Well MY 90s have no exhaust valve seat/seats so you me be just seeing normal blowby. Normally you see that upon startup which is why I asked you about the cats. I assume no error codes since you didnt state any.

No error codes, all is GTG. I did read about the earlier Z's and smoke...It's very minimal when it happens, and I can't see it while in the car since it disapates so quickly...

Could be PCV system

If its coolant your low coolant will come on...(sometimes the IH gaskets leak into the intake)
