Powdercoat

Tentative Winter project, powdercoat plenum and cam covers etc.
With a good masking job, can the TB be powdercoated without removing
the throttle blades etc? I don't want to mess with the screws that hold
the plates to the shaft if possible. If it can be done, what about the oven's heat
effecting the "coating" (what it's called escapes me at the moment...) used to
make the seal on the throttle plates. Any soft parts to be concerned about?

There are a few plastic parts in the TB, would not do it....DAG can be replaced

Lee is correct. I did our LT5 in PC a few years ago; you will need to fully disassemble the TB to have it coated. It is not a big deal at all.

TB screws are a PITA ....the screws are deformed at the bottom so you have to cut off the ends.....might be other ways. I wonder if maybe heating them might work...not sure if they were crushed or if they were soldered...

I used a dremel to cut the melted ends off then just redrilled the holes and taped for new screws. But I had a TIME with those on CJ's Z for some reason.
