Aftermarket Differential Cover or drain plug mod? ---
Is there an aftermarket rear differential cover for our cars?
The stock one is just stamped steel w/o a drain plug, right? I thought I heard someone mention a kit to tap a drain plug into the stocker ... I'll look into that if its the only option. I'm about to swap out the fluids and would like to change it up if possible. Thanks! --- |

I'm kinda surprised PML doesn't offer one. |

Yeah, PML is where I just got one for the SRT8 Jeep I have.
Its a Dana 44 in the rear? Anything make it different than any other Dana 44? They have a low, high , and top fill version http://www.yourcovers.com/diffcover_6057.php --- |

drop down on one knee and you'll know why it isn't just a cover.

Yeah I really should have gotten under the car before making this thread but its dark out right now ... I may get under there tomorrow.
I found a good thread from last year on how to drill/tap the stock cover. http://zr1.net/forum/showthread.php?...ight=dana+rear |

I've been told about the "batwing" mounts , I need to see them for myself to understand how it mounts the rear-end to the frame.
I guess that scratches the idea of the D44 covers from PML HAHAHA --- |

Ahhh ok, I see the wings LOL :)
I didn't realize those were connected to the cover vs the actual housing though. Thanks! I found a tap kit too , is this the only one available? http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....Z5Z50000050~~~ |
