Changing oil temperature sender

My oil temperature sender (see Dynomite's fabulous picture for location) is leaking and I'm going to change it. Has anyone done so and have any recommended removal of other parts before replacement or suggested tool? It appears it's going to be tight but perhaps a deep socket will work. Many thanks. John

Hi John
The best way i found to do this without taking the oil filter housing.

Take passenger wheel off and center wheel/fender well, take right/passenger side motor mount nut (18mm) off use a 2x4 raise motor about 1-2 inches and you should have a clear shot at the sender.
Go to your local parts store buy cheap oil sender socket about $10-$15 i grind the head of the oil socket to a square and use a open end wrench to turn it you can also use the 12 point closed end.
Now you have a custom tool that will work for the oil pressure sensor and oil temperature sensor.

My socket was a bit thick at the bottom i had to grind the wall of the socket all around at the bottom.

Hope this helps.
Pete
