rear wheel question
 

Hello,

does anybody know what the rear wheel offset is for a zr1. I bought 17/11 rears and they sent them for a regular corvette. I cant seem to find any for a original zr1 so I am wondering if adding a spacer would make it work. The salesman made a mistake when he sold me these wheels but I cant seem to find any that actually have a zr1 offset amold that are deepdish also. Will a spacer work? the guy at the tire place said get a 1 inch spacer and that should do it. Any help will be appreciated. edramos.

there are no aftermarket deep lug rears on the market. the rear offset is 36mm I believe

36MM is the correct rear offset. 50MM is the rear offset for a Grand Sport

The OE offset is 36mm as mentioned. If you want to use what you've bought then you need a 14mm spacer to "get even" BUT I'd suggest an 18mm spacer to move it just 4mm further. You need "hub-centric pass-through" spacers done by only a few vendors out there, you'll need 10 wheel studs also but the work isn't difficult. I've got 16mm, "Z51Jeff" I believe has 18's and Lee "LGAFF" has 18's also I believe. BTW - they're "safe"!!!

Definitely a NO on the 1" stuff. The fellow who did mine I understand is in poor health these days and isn't near you at all. If I can help at all ask. I know where I'd go if I needed to do them again and my old reliable fellow couldn't do them but maybe you'd rather maybe buy correct wheels.

What do you actually have for wheels now? Are you attempting to add "black" GS or just what?

Carter200 on this forum makes the hubcentric spacers you need.

14mm is that about 1 inch?? I can get hubcentric billet 1 inch spacers no problem.

25 mm in a inch. so 14mm is just a little over half inch spacer. I thought it would be more?

I threw my pitted amolds away today. I thought these would fit but they dont. I am in a pickle and need to make these work. the hubcentric spacers are spacers that mount on your hub with bolts and then you bolt the rims on to them. I dont think I will need new wheel studs just more bolts. I found a company that would make 20mm. Let see if I can find 18mm. I contacted carter200 to see if you can sell me some. thanks for your help. edramos.

What I mentioned are "pass through" spacers NOT bolt-on adapters. The math is like this, the wheels you bought are 50mm, the ZR-1 wants 36mm, 50 - 36 gets you what I called "even". Everything else is moving the tire/wheel out-board more. I would think anything greater than 18mm is a push. I'd do and I have pass-through. You would need studs. Depending on how your new wheels are constructed you need a minimum of something 20mm or greater to use the adapter you mention. Post a snap-shot of the back-side of your wheel flange.
